Arts Advocacy Day

Today (and tomorrow) are Arts Advocacy Twenty-four hour period(s), and I'm really not sure why there's no figure like Santa or the Easter Bunny who delivers fine art materials to all the proficient kids.

However, it's a solar day to reverberate on the importance of the arts , and there are a few ways you tin join in:

Tonight isThe 26th Annual Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy featuring Yo-Yo Ma. Join me nearly to watch the lecture at vi:30 pm Eastern time with a big drinking glass of wine.

Tomorrow is the Google+ hangout, at x:thirty am Eastern time, with Yo-Yo Ma, Stone and Roll Hall of Fame drummer (formerly of Guns N' Roses) Matt Sorum, former New York City Ballet main dancer and Aspen Institute Arts Program Manager Damian Woetzel, and Lisa Phillips, writer of "The Artistic Border: 7 Skills Children Need to Succeed in an Increasingly Correct Brain World."

Americans for the Arts will exist collecting questions before the Hangout via Twitter and electronic mail. Yous can either Tweet to them using the #AskYoYo hashtag. Or, send an electronic mail to:[electronic mail protected] with #AskYoYo in the field of study line.
